Moonstone, Sept 9, 2001. Fiesta

Brass Anchor Scuba Center and Potomac Divers Club aboard Fiesta. Bottom temp 45F. Viz 40'+. Current, slight. Length 171'. Ever since I've been diving the Moonstone, she's been my favorite wreck off Delaware. Whoever said she's not the glorious beauty ofyesteryear has not taken a close look at how she has changed. The complex wreckage and colorful growth of anemones becomes more interesting every year. The giant gun and depth charge racks still stand in defiance of her Uboat avengers. This is our mostintact WWII wreck, is easy to navigate, and holds something interesting for every diver who visits her. Visibility always seems better at this offshore location. I would never turn down an opportunity to visit her..

I should have destroyed this untended trap. It is a death cage that attracts new victims as more fish die in it. It's on the port side, just aft of the gun. If you see it, please open it up.
